Interview with Mrs Aline CHEIZE, SYNUTRA Laboratory Manager and Mr Sylvain RIEUFREGIER, Mrs CHEIZE’s Assistant:

Why did you need the Interscience range?

We wanted to equip our microbiology laboratory.

We use your machines for classic microbiology analyses, the DiluFlow to dilute our samples, and the BagMixer to homogenize our samples.

The Scan 100 with its BagLight makes it easier for us to read total flora analyses.

The JumboMix will be used to pool our samples (30 times 25g) of infant milk powders, instead of weighing them several times.

How has DiluFlow Pro changed the way you work?

The Interscience range has enabled us to improve the quality of our analyses. Compared to the competition, the DiluFlow has some very clear advantages. The main one for me is the shape of the BagOpen. This allows the bag to be positioned in such a way that the liquid is evenly distributed at the bottom of the bag, without the weight effect that can cause the bag to unhook, as is the case with competitors.

We’ve had a few problems with the GeckoGrip, but that’s down to our milk powder matrix, which sticks to the micro-suckers. But the advantage is that the sticky power is restored after washing, so it can be reused in this way. I find the DiluFlow Pro very user-friendly and intuitive. Everything is clearly explained on the front of the device.

I can’t think of any negative points, and the instructions are clear and well adapted. It’s practical to have a laminated instruction manual that you can display directly at the workstation, without needing to draw up an operating manual.

Why did you choose Interscience?

Our choice was made after a number of discussions. We were looking for a partnership approach that would enable the laboratory to evolve in the future. We worked on this aspect with our contact at Interscience to have a rewarding relationship on both sides, which we don’t necessarily have with other suppliers.

As a laboratory manager, the cost aspect was also important. We know that Interscience offers high-performance solutions, with equipment that is well suited to today’s microbiology of sample preparation and that meets the needs we encounter.
