For Jean-Vincent Gauzentes, Director of Agrolab’s and now President of the PEM2i Entreprises Association, “The aim, with all the public and private partners, is to set up concrete actions in the field of training and economic development, by sharing equipment and skills."
A training program ranging has already been initiated and will be developed over the coming years at the Université d’Auvergne, with a Master 2 in Industrial Microbiology and a BTS Anabiotec starting this fall. State-of-the-art equipment was acquired and commissioned in the spring.
The project management for the future building to house the center has been launched, and the center is already involved in two European development projects.
“We can only welcome the positive development of this cluster. From the outset, we at the Cantal CCI have played our role as facilitators, and we will continue to support this cluster and the companies in the sector, particularly in terms of training with our campus”, emphasized Laurent Ladoux, President of the Cantal CCI.
Concluding this milestone, Laurent Buchaillat, Prefect of the Cantal, also welcomed the progress: ”This new step taken by this Center of Excellence for Microbiology, Industry and Innovation will raise the profile of the Cantal department and will be a strong element of attractiveness for the territory.”
